To start with Sigiriya; an ancient 5th century rock fortress refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high, citadel of unusual beauty.Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and a World Heritage Site. Famous Temple of the Tooth which houses the tooth relic of the Buddha, is one of the most venerated sacred religious temples in the Buddhist world.Nuwara Eliya takes pride in its beautiful gardens with neatly-clipped lawns and colourful flower beds. Explore the surrounding picturesque tea estates, Lakes and activities. Because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort.

Ella is a beautiful small village in Sri Lanka’s hill country now improved with more shops, hotels and guesthouses.Ella has densely covered misty tea plantations, remote villages, tunnels and spectacular waterfalls an almost perfect climate with rich in Oxygen. Udawalawe National Park is in dry zone which was declared as a national park, falls between two reservoirs surrounded by the scenic beauty of the mountain range that keeps on winding endlessly on few escarpments. This park is famous for elephants seen in all their playfulness. The Galle Dutch Fort World Heritage site was the Port of Ceylon. This small walled city with about 300 colonial type homes and an ancient-world feel, still remain with its well preserved bastions, public buildings, churches, and lighthouse. Finally Colombo the commercial capital city, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet, in some parts, the old world charm is retained. Shopping malls and many interesting places to visit too. Night life is much alive here in Colombo.

After we sent the final invoice, 10 % of the full amount has to be paid as an advance. (This is a confirmation of the tour). An advance payment receipt will be issued. The balance payment can be paid on arrival or during the tour.


CANCELLATION POLICY: 

Cancellation should be notified 2 days prior to the arrival date; if not 10 % of the full amount will be canceled.

    In most of the Hotels the Check-In time would be 14.00 hrs and Check-Out time would be 12.00 hrs [Early Check-In / Late Check-Out are provided on availability].

Tour Program

1

Day 1

Our representative will warmly welcome you at arrival of the Colombo Bandaranayaka International Airport and facilitate all your needs. Then he will introduce you to our English speaking Chauffeur guide who will proceed to Sigiriya, en-route visiting Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Herbal & Spice Garden. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Sigiriya.

(At this Orphanage you will find over 80 elephants of all ages that have been found, abandoned or orphaned in the wild and the unique feature is that you can feed the baby elephants with milk bottles during the feeding times. You can also accompany the elephants to a river close-by and get a nice view of them enjoying their routine bath at the river)

(Visit a Herbal & Spice garden to see different kinds of spices for which Sri Lanka was and still, famous for and enlighten your-self with spices used in local cuisines. Here guests could see how some of these spices are grown and processed. Sometimes witness a Cookery demonstration or relax and enjoy a 20 minutes complimentary Ayurveda Massage. A variety of herbal plants are also grown and nurtured in the premises.)

Day 2

After breakfast leave Sigiriya and proceed to Kandy en-route Visiting the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya which tells a tale of power, intrigue and tragedy. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Kandy.

(Sigiriya is an ancient 5th century rock fortress refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance (UNESCO listed World Heritage Site) that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high, citadel of unusual beauty. The palace is on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure “Sihagiri”, the Lion Rock. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens spring the base of the rock. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.)

Day 3

After breakfast leave Kandy and travel to Nuwara Eliya en-route Visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic and Gem Museum in Kandy. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.

(Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and a World Heritage Site. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy lake built by the last king, in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and upper lake drive, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary, natural forest, world war II British cemetery, witness a culture dance performance and visit the puja ceremony of Sacred Tooth Relic Temple in Kandy. The white painted famous Temple of the Tooth which houses the most sacred religious relic, the tooth of the Buddha, is one of the most venerated sacred temples in the Buddhist world.)

(The island of Sri Lanka, also known as "Ceylon" has a long heritage for Gem-mining and trading that dates back some 2,000 years. Sri Lanka has earned its namesake as the Island of Gems or “Ratnadvipa” with its abundance of corundum gems, chrysoberyl and alexandrite, garnet, moonstone, peridot, Spinel, topaz, tourmaline, quartz and zircon.)

Day 4

After breakfast drive you around Nuwara Eliya sight seeing. This includes visiting a Tea Factory and New Zealand Dairy Farm at Ambewela. Overnight stay at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

(Discover Nuwara Eliya, also known as Little England, is where the homesick British (the Tea Planters) built themselves a home away from home. The town of Nuwara Eliya (city of lights) sprawls over the fertile valley flanked by Mount Pidurutalagala and Single Tree Mountain and is scattered with Victorian-style 19th century homes, bungalows, guesthouses and hotels complete with gabled roofs, large open fireplaces and hardwood floors. Nuwara Eliya takes pride in its beautiful gardens with neatly-clipped lawns and colourful flower beds. Explore the surrounding picturesque tea estates, Horse rides and boat rides in Gregory Lake. One of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia is also situated here. Because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea.)

(At Ambewela farm due to the high altitude of 6,064 ft the mean annual temperature in the area is below 17.5 °C , while frost is common during Winter. It is also popular for of being the highest (in altitude) and widest grassland in Sri Lanka. Mammals such as the Sambar deer, Leopard and Rabit dominate the majority of the forest cover around the area. Ambewela is famous for scenic landscapes, Rhododendron arboreum
flowers. Similar to Horton Plains and Ohiya, this site is also one of the Important Bird Areas of Sri Lanka, making the area a popular location for birdwatching as well. The climatic and economical conditions in Ambewela make it an ideal location for dairy farming, hence the country's only milk powder factory is situated in this area. The two animal husbandries, Ambewela Farm and New Zealand Farm, have Ayrshire cattle and Friesian cowsrespectively.)

Day 5

After breakfast say goodbye to Nuwara Eliya and travel to Ella en-route Visiting the Hakgala Botanical Gardens in Nuwara Eliya. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Ella.

(The Hakgala garden was established for cultivation of the medicinal crop Cinchona. Afterwards it was used for Tea cultivation. In 1884 it was changed into a garden with many subtropical and tropical plants. The legendary India-Lanka folktale ‘Ramayana’ states that Sita, the wife of Rama, was abducted and kept hidden in this area by the Demon King Ravana who ruled Sri Lanka. The Hakgala garden was supposed to have been a pleasure garden gifted to Sita by the Demon King in an attempt to lessen her sorrow. The Hakgala garden adjoin the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve. It has a peak of visitors in the local spring season since most plants are in bloom at the time. The garden is famed for their roses and orchids.)

(The train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella often stands out as one of Sri Lanka’s most unforgettable journeys. Reaching Ella by train passing densely covered misty tea plantations, remote villages, tunnels and spectacular waterfalls is a kind of experience you have to get at least once in your lifetime. It is a beautiful small village in Sri Lanka's hill country with little more than a handful of shops, hotels and guesthouses, but now it has improved more than before. Ella has an almost perfect climate with rich in Oxygen. Places like nine arch bridge, Ravana caves and waterfall occupies a very scenic vantage points, with views on a fine day stretching right across the South Coast of Sri Lanka.)

Day 6

After breakfast say goodbye to Ella and travel to Udawalawe en-route Visiting the nine arch bridge, King Ravana cave and water fall in Ella. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Udawalawe.

(The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24m. It is also called the Bridge in the Sky. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder, ‘P. K. Appuhami’, in consultation with British engineers. The beautiful nine arches make it a very picturesque spot especially as it is located in a dense jungle and agricultural setting. Behind the railway, a forest is booming and below, tea leaves are being cultivated. The bridge is actually quite close to the main street in Ella town. A tuk-tuk will take you there or you can enjoy the walk through the jungle for 20 or so minutes. You can access from either side of the railway. But if you aren’t up for the trek and adventure you can literally get dropped right at the bridge.)

(Named after King Ravana, the Ravana water Fall is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. Currently it ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 82 ft in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. Ravana Cave and Heights is also bound with the legend ‘Ramayana’ are places of interest to visit.)

Day 7

After breakfast leave Udawalawe and travel to Galle en-route Visiting the National Park in Udawalawe. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Galle.

(It is time to do a safari in the Udawalawe National Park. This is a dry zone park which was declared as a national park in 1972. The park falls between two reservoirs surrounded by the scenic beauty of the mountain range that keeps on winding endlessly on few escarpments. This park is famous for elephants seen in all their playfulness, whole herds of them, adults and babies bathing and playing in the water or feeding. In addition spotted deer, sambur, barking deer, gray langur, water buffalo and jackal are some of the prominent wild animals found in this park. Rare Kinds of eagles, birds and peacocks are found in fair numbers.)

Day 8

After breakfast say goodbye to Galle and travel to Colombo, en-route Visiting the Galle Fort and turtle hatchery in Galle. Afterwards check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Colombo.

(Turtle Hatchery Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Those hatcheries pay local fishermen or poachers for eggs that they collect at night along the sandy beach. There is a instructor who will explain all in detail. You can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatch-lings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness.)

(The Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage site), originally built by the Portuguese and then further developed by the Dutch and the British, covers nearly 4 sq-km (spanning 90 acres). It was once the chief port of Ceylon. This small walled city with about 300 colonial type homes and an ancient-world feel, still remain with its well preserved bastions, public buildings, churches, and lighthouse.)

(If you have time, do a city tour of Colombo. Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet, in some parts, the old world charm is retained. Shopping malls and many interesting places to visit too. Night life is much alive here in Colombo.)

Day 9

After breakfast leave from Colombo and proceed to Colombo Bandaranayaka International Airport departure terminal.
